Mr Geoffrey Watling was a well-known
successful entrepreneur who was associated with
many businesses during his working life.
Geoffrey loved
big band music and owned several ballrooms from
the late 1940's until the late 1950's including
the former Samson & Hercules and Lido ballrooms
in Norwich and the Kessingland Palais in Lowestoft.
The
Geoffrey Watling Charity was established
in 1993 and distributes grants to projects
which in the Trustees’ opinion
merit financial support. Its objects
are to apply the income of the trust
fund to such charity or charities or
for such charitable purposes as the
Trustees in their discretion may from
time to time determine. The area of
benefit is generally within the County
of Norfolk and Waveney District of Suffolk.
